Vanesa Serafini
Dr. in Biological Sciences
I studied the teaching staff and the degree in Biological Sciences at the National University of Río Cuarto. I have been a member of GIEPCO since 2013, when I started to develop my degree thesis. Later I also did my PhD in Biological Sciences at UNRC. I am currently a First Class Assistant in the subject Epistemology and History of Biology for careers in Biological Sciences at UNRC (Teaching Science Group) and I am a Postdoctoral fellow at the Institute of Earth Sciences, Biodiversity and Environment (CONICET- UNRC).
The research projects in which I have participated are focused on the study of small mammal populations in agroecosystems. Particularly in my doctoral thesis I studied the effects of different agricultural practices (organic management and different intensities of use of conventional management) and the complexity of the landscape on rodent assemblages in the province of Córdoba. For this I have implemented hierarchical models, particularly occupation models by means of a Bayesian approach.
