José A. Coda

Dr. in Biological Sciences

I am a Bachelor and Doctor in Biological Sciences graduated from the National University of Río Cuarto (UNRC). I have been working at GIEPCO since 2007, where I began to collaborate as a student and later did my undergraduate thesis. During my PhD study the impact of different agricultural management (organic and conventional) on native rodents. To do this, I undertook both population and individual studies (download thesis). I am currently an Assistant Researcher of CONICET at the Institute of Earth Sciences, Biodiversity and Environment (UNRC-CONICET). I also work as a teacher at UNRC, participating in Animal Biology II and Animal Population Management, both subjects belonging to the Bachelor of Biological Sciences program.

The research projects in which I participate are focused on the study of small mammals in agroecosystems. Starting from my post-doctorate and currently as a researcher, I have started to use morphological tools to study the impact of agricultural activities on these species. I carry out an approach from geometric morphometry, emphasizing the impacts of these activities on the development of organisms. In addition, I have recently begun to study the different species of tuco-tucos (Ctenomys) that inhabit the province of Córdoba, in order to clarify their taxonomy and distribution.
